​The Love Jones Experience is a Tribute to Artistic Expression and Community Building. The 1997 film Love Jones was not only a portrayal of the complexities of love between two artists, but it was also one of the first films to shed light on the struggles faced by black artists. As a spoken word artist from the 90s and early 2000s, I wanted to revive the sense of community among artists, particularly black artists of all genres, to come together and create. This led to the creation of the Love Jones Experience, a platform to celebrate artistic expression and foster a sense of community among artists. Join us as we celebrate love, creativity, and community at The Peach in West Palm Beach, FL. Our upcoming event, The Love Jones Experience: Anniversary Show, is set to take place on Saturday, January 27th at 7:00 PM. You won't want to miss the opportunity to witness the incredible performances of talented poets like Calvin Made-son, whose words and performances are sure to stir your soul. In addition to the poetry, we'll also have live music, live painting, and a host of singers and local poets. Our events are held quarterly at The Peach, a vibrant art collective that offers the perfect setting for our unique and unforgettable experiences.
